One might assume that this preference for mixed genres tallies with Nean's multimedia art practice. Does this mean spreading oneself too thinly or frantically? As the sayings go, Nean of all trades is master of none, and: all work and no play make Nean a dull boy. At any rate, German and English, the languages in which Nean writes, play an equally important role as his academic interests. While they offer the cherished opportunity to form different thoughts and to reach alternative conclusions, translating each text from one language into the other would definitely be too much work and not enough play.
