Intro
Comix Portfolios merge elements from the comic magazine and the drawing portfolio. The Comix Portfolio is a hybrid genre that borrows from standard comics a typical blend of text and image, that gives priority to images over text. Clearly unlike a comic, drawing portfolios store graphic artworks without sequencing intentions. The stored artworks may or may not relate to one another in terms of technique, size, style or subject, whereas comic magazines use an obligatory page format to arrange sequences. More than two images placed next to one another automatically generate a story-telling logic on a comic’s page. Nevertheless, although Comix Portfolios have a page-like appearance in electronic format, when they are printed, they function like pictures, especially when displayed on a stand on a table or a shelf.
